About The Event
Vernal pools are small, seasonal wetlands that play a critical role in supporting wildlife. In this homeschool workshop, students will learn what vernal pools are, why they form, and why they are so important to amphibians, insects, and other species. After an introduction to the natural history of vernal pools, students will explore these habitats and search for signs of life that depend on these temporary wetlands. Please dress for the weather, and wear boots if you would like to wade into wet areas. All children must be registered in advance. Please complete a separate registration for each child.
