2026 Projects and Programs Supported by Constellation Energy

Three major projects at the Sterling Nature Center will move forward in 2026 thanks to the 2025 CLEAN Environment Awards from Constellation. These projects strengthen conservation, improve safety, and expand youth education.

Heron Trail Bridge Restoration

Repairs to the Heron Trail Bridge will improve safe access for visitors while protecting the surrounding wetland habitat. The restored bridge will provide long-term, sustainable access to the Dogwood trail extensions.

Bird-Safe Building Improvements

Bird-safe window film will be installed on the interpretive building to reduce bird collisions and protect migratory species along the Lake Ontario shoreline.

Expanded Youth Nature Programs

Expanded Youth Nature Programs

Funding will support the first summer youth programs at the Sterling Nature Center, offering new hands-on experiences for children ages 9 to 12. These programs will create more opportunities for outdoor learning, exploration, and environmental stewardship.
