STERLING, NY – Friends of the Sterling Nature Center proudly announce receiving a $10,000 grant from the Dr. Robert J. Vitkus Fund of the Central New York Community Foundation. This grant, dedicated to furnishing the new interpretive center at the Sterling Nature Center, represents a continued legacy of community support for outdoor recreation, conservation, and education.

Scheduled for completion in November 2023, the interpretive center has been constructed with funds from the REDI grant of New York State. It will serve as a space to connect visitors with nature, aligning with the values that Dr. Robert J. Vitkus passionately upheld throughout his life.
