About The Event
Join us for a volunteer Japanese barberry pull at the Sterling Nature Center.
Japanese barberry is an invasive shrub that spreads quickly through our forests, crowding out native plants and making it harder for them to thrive. By removing it, we're giving native plants the chance to recover and helping keep our forests healthy for the wildlife that depends on them.
No experience is necessary. We'll show you how to identify Japanese barberry and provide the tools you'll need. Just wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Bringing work gloves and a water bottle is also recommended.
Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole morning, every helping hand makes a difference. It's a great way to spend some time outdoors, meet other volunteers, and help care for this special place.
We hope you'll join us on Friday, August 21, or Saturday, August…
