No two days are the same. Children spend their time outside, moving, observing, experimenting, and creating.

They will:

  • Hike wooded trails and along the lakeshore

  • Identify birds, insects, and native plants

  • Take part in simple outdoor science investigations

  • Create nature-inspired art and projects

  • Work in teams to solve challenges and complete group activities

  • Play active games that connect learning with movement

This is an outdoor experience first. Kids are engaged, curious, and connected to the natural world around them.

   PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

The program is led by an experienced local educator and retired science teacher with decades of teaching experience and a strong focus on nature-based learning. She leads homeschool youth workshop programs at the Sterling Nature Center. The program is supervised by Sterling Nature Center Director Jim D’Angelo. All activities are planned to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for every child.
