                                           A Sterling Nature Center Summer Program

The Get Lost in Nature summer program offers hands-on outdoor learning for children ages 9 to 12. Kids will explore trails, learn about wildlife, play nature-based games, and build confidence in a fun, supportive setting. Each day combines adventure, science, creativity, and teamwork in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Sterling Nature Center.

Week 1: July 13 to 17
Ages 9 and 10

Week 2: July 27 to 31
Ages 11 and 12

Program Hours: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Before and Aftercare Available:

8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Program Fee: $185 per child, per week
Participant Limit: 12 children per session

WHAT WILL THE KIDS DO?

Each day of the program is filled with hands-on outdoor activities designed to be fun, active, and educational. Children will:

• Explore nature trails and forests
• Learn about local wildlife and habitats
• Participate in outdoor science experiments
• Play nature-based games
• Create arts and crafts inspired by nature
• Practice teamwork and problem-solving
• Observe plants, insects, birds, and animals
• Enjoy creative learning activities outdoors

The program focuses on discovery, curiosity, and confidence-building in a safe, supportive environment.

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

The program is led by an experienced local educator and retired science teacher who brings decades of teaching experience and a passion for nature-based learning. The program is supervised by Sterling Nature Center Director Jim D’Angelo. All activities are carefully planned to provide a safe, engaging, and encouraging environment for every child.

To register, complete the form below to request a registration packet by mail. The packet includes full program details, required forms, policies, and payment instructions.

After submitting this form, a registration packet will be mailed to you within 3 to 5 business days. Completed forms and payment must be returned to finalize registration.

Payment may be made by check through the mail, or in person by cash or credit card.

Space is limited. Registration is first come, first served.

The Friends of the Sterling Nature Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the development and preservation of Sterling Nature Center
