Mark Wahl presents a collection of his favorite original tunes, joined by the talented Loren Barrigar on guitar and Taylor Ricks on upright bass.

 Singer-songwriter, guitarist, and luthier Mark’s songs are often poignant vignettes with strong use of metaphor, simple melodies and compelling lyrics. He is fond of alternate tunings on guitar and baritone ukulele, and his animated and often foot stomping delivery is engaging. “I try to write with color, detail and emotion and to connect on a personal level with the listener."

 

Mark’s song Paint and Canvas Heart won Gold in the Americana genre of the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest, and also won Finalist in the Folk and Acoustic genre with Perpetual Motion.

 

Featured on the main stage at the Black Bear Folk Festival in 2024, Black Bear Festival’s Curator’s Pick at the 2023 Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference. -“Performed” at the 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Grassy Hill Emerging Artist Showcase. -Featured among songwriters chosen for the 2019 Syracuse Acoustic Guitar Songwriting Project. Circadia, Mark’s 2018 CD, was nominated Best Americana of the SAMMY’s (Syracuse Area Music Awards). His 2013 CD Everything Returns, featured his trio Canvas Moon. Mark is currently recording his third album, his solo After 13 years as director of Ontario Center for Performing Arts, Inc. Mark now focuses on performing and making fine acoustic instruments. He owns and operates Mark’s Luthierie in Oswego, NY. Mark is currently performing with Loren Barrigar on guitar and vocals, a world class guitarist and widely traveled performer and with Taylor Ricks on Bass and vocals., an immensely talented Syracuse based multi instrumentalist and performer.

Fingerstyle Guitarist from Central New York

Loren Barrigar is an award-winning acoustic guitarist known for his clean fingerstyle technique and expressive performances. He started playing guitar at age four and made his Grand Ole Opry debut at just six years old.

A lifelong musician, Loren has toured across the U.S. and internationally, performing with artists like Tommy Emmanuel, BB King, and Patti LaBelle. His original compositions have been featured on shows including ER and The Young and the Restless.

Loren’s longtime duo with New Zealand guitarist Mark Mazengarb earned widespread acclaim, and today he often performs with his son, LJ Barrigar — continuing the family’s musical tradition.

Whether on stage solo or in collaboration, Loren brings warmth, talent, and deep musical roots to every performance.

Taylor Ricks

Taylor Ricks is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and performer based in Syracuse, New York. Originally from the Saratoga Springs region, he has developed a distinctive sound that blends folk, jazz, blues, samba, and ragtime.

His songwriting draws from both personal reflection and social observation, offering music that connects on multiple levels. Taylor has performed and recorded with a variety of regional artists.

He is a familiar name in the Central New York music scene, with appearances at venues and events like the Oswego Music Hall’s Hook Songwriter Series and Crazy Daisies in Syracuse.

Fox and Fea Handmade Yarn Works, owned by Cassidy Tuthill, offers unique handcrafted yarn creations loved by adults and kids alike. Cassidy started her business to share the joy and beauty of handmade fiber art with the community.

We are dedicated to improving the world, one bee at a time. This is achieved by harvesting pure, local, raw honey from our hives found in the picturesque Finger Lakes region. The honey our bees produce comes in a variety of colors and flavors, influenced by the diverse flora from which they gather pollen and nectar.

Learn permaculture design principles to observe and mimic nature, bringing nature's best designs to your own yard. Katie Stout of Regenerative Property Management will lead participants through strategies to observe the natural environment and identify how plants and whole ecosystems support one another. We will then apply a design process to bring edible and functional plants into home landscaping.
