About The Event

Taste impeccable coffee grown sustainably in Costa Rica by Down to Earth Coffee. Second generation coffee farmer, Juliana Zeledon continues the legacy of her father, Matias Zeledon. With the utmost care for land, community, and coffee, the Zeledons are international educators in sustainable coffee. Taste another agricultural product from Costa Rica whose production can have sign

ificant impacts upon local ecosystems, and humans, cacao! We will review facts about this central American country and Spanish vocabulary, too.

Inspired by a trip to Costa Rica the program will focus on the fruits of our exploration of ecotourism and the biology of the Neotropics. Monteverde’s conservation history by Quakers from Alabama will be emphasized, as well as the fantastic biodiversity fostered by the unique climates and ecosystems of this varied country. Our choices of sustainable coffee and cacao have enormous impacts!
